FJH Weekly Email

Dear Farmington Families,

Here is the information from FJH this week.

Final 4th Term Grades and Requesting a “Pass/Incomplete” Option

School is still in session until May 29th. If your student has completed their schoolwork, they are done. However, if students want to improve their grade, they may continue to turn in work through the end of the school year.

Final 4th term grades will be published in MyDSD on June 1st.

Parents have the option of requesting a “Pass/Incomplete” grade in MyDSD rather than a letter grade. You have the option to request it for specific classes. Linked here are step by step instructions of how to complete the request in MyDSD. If you do not have access to MyDSD, you may make the request by contacting your child’s counselor or an administrator. If you make no other selection in MyDSD, your child will receive a letter grade by default.

If a parent requests the “Pass/Incomplete option, the student still needs to complete the minimum requirements set by the teacher to receive a “Pass.”

Yearbooks

FAQ – “Why are you holding a different event for yearbooks? Why can’t students pick them up at their locker cleanout appointment?”

Answer: We have not received the completed yearbooks yet. Printing plants were closed due to the Coronavirus which has delayed delivery. We are scheduled to receive our shipment later this week. The Yearbook staff will need to put in the Spring insert, and they will be ready by the scheduled days below. Thank you for understanding.

We will be doing a “drive-through” yearbook distribution in the front of the school. There will be a separate yearbook pickup for 9th graders and one for 7th and 8th graders. Students may retrieve their yearbook at the time designated by their last name.

All students must know their student ID #.

There are still yearbooks available for purchase. You may purchase one in MyDSD under “optional fees.”

Item Return and Locker Cleanout Appointments

Students have been coming to turn in items, and it has been very smooth. The appointment scheduler is open in MyDSD for parents to schedule a time for their student to visit the school and return items and clean out their locker(s). Students will only have one appointment, so please be sure your student is done with their coursework before they turn in their computer. If your student has nothing to turn in or clean out, we ask that you please do not schedule an appointment nor come to the school.

We sent out this letter last week with specific information for students to come to the building, it is linked here.

PTSA NEWS

Did you know that Farmington Jr High has a PTSA? Did you know that we need YOU to keep it running next year? The PTSA is a great way to stay involved in your student’s education beyond elementary when class volunteers are rarely needed. Our activities are casual and take minimal time and effort, while still being able to interact and have fun with students.

We are currently in need of several volunteers to fill positions on next year’s PTSA board! Grab some friends and sign up today! Click HERE to view the sign up.

Thank you for all your support for our school. We wish you and your family well.

Sincerely,

Farmington Junior High Administration
